Give now through your trust, support loved ones later

A charitable lead trust allows you to make immediate annual gifts to The Alexander Foundation while ultimately transferring assets to loved ones.

How it works

  1. Define the term and beneficiaries. Choose the payout structure and number of years. Start a conversation at [email protected].
  2. Fund the trust. Transfer assets; the trustee invests per your strategy.
  3. Support impact now. The foundation receives payments during the trust term to fund programs and education.
  4. Remainder to heirs. At the end of the term, remaining assets pass to your beneficiaries.

Common questions

What is a charitable lead trust?
Charity first, heirs later. Your trust pays income to The Alexander Foundation for a set term; the remaining assets then pass to family or other beneficiaries.
What payment types are available?
An annuity lead trust pays a fixed amount each year; a unitrust lead trust pays a percentage of the trust’s annual value.
What assets can fund a CLT?
Cash or marketable securities are most common; other assets may be possible with review.
Is a CLT an estate planning tool?
In certain markets a CLT can help transfer assets efficiently to heirs while supporting charity along the way. Your advisor can tell you whether it fits your situation.

Two ways to take the next step

For families

You are not alone in this.

If your child has Cloverleaf Syndrome or another craniofacial condition and the bills are piling up, tell us what is happening. We help where we can, and we will point you to people who can help with the rest.

For supporters

Every dollar reaches a family.

Nobody at the foundation is paid. Apart from minimal supplies and tax filing, every gift goes to families, hospitals, schools and books that change how children treat each other.
