Accessibility

A foundation that exists for children with disabilities should have a website everyone can use. Here is what we have done and how to tell us when we fall short.

Our standard

This website is built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, including the 2.0 and 2.1 criteria it contains. In practice that means:

  • Every text and background pairing meets at least a 4.5 to 1 contrast ratio; most exceed 7 to 1.
  • Body text is set in Atkinson Hyperlegible Next, a typeface designed by the Braille Institute for readers with low vision, and sizes scale with your browser settings.
  • Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a skip link to the main content.
  • Menus, accordions and forms announce their state to screen readers, and every form field has a visible label.
  • Images have meaningful alternative text, or are marked decorative.
  • Animation is minimal and respects your reduced-motion setting.
  • Pages work at 320 pixels wide and at 400% zoom without horizontal scrolling.

Known limitations

The donation checkout is provided by GoFundMe Pro and the fundraising pages by GoFundMe, whose accessibility we do not control. If either is a barrier for you, email us and we will take your gift another way.

Tell us about a barrier

If anything on this site is hard for you to use, email [email protected] and tell us the page and what happened. We will fix it or find you another way to do what you came to do.
